Trusted & Skilled Occupational Therapists for Home Health Care
Occupational therapy is an important part of any home health agency’s spectrum of care. At home, it is designed to teach you how to adapt to pain or an illness, injury, or disability that makes it difficult to take care of yourself. The goal is to regain the ability to complete activities you do on daily basis and improve your quality of life.
Occupational therapists help you come up with a therapy plan and set goals custom to your needs, limits, or disability. They can train you to improve your motor skill or hand-eye coordination, adapt your movements, communicate, or perform tasks in new ways.
They also may utilize materials or equipment that make tasks easier to complete and adapt the environment to accommodate a client’s limitations.
Skilled Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapy Assistants can help in areas including:
Activities of Daily Living (ADL) Skills Training
Fine Motor Skill Rehabilitation
Home Safety Education
Decrease fall risk
Adaptive equipment recommendations & training

Is there a difference between "home care" and "home health care"?
The term “home care” refers to any type of care (medical or non-medical) that is provided for the client in their home. While home care can be used to describe both medical and non-medical care, typically “home care” should be seen as non-medical care such as companionship/homemaking services and personal care services, while “home healthcare” refers specifically to skilled nursing care and other care such as speech, physical or occupational therapy.
